Today, a significant milestone was achieved as we signed a ₦1 billion matching fund agreement aimed at boosting SME growth in Katsina. The agreement was finalized with His Excellency Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, a distinguished leader who previously served as the Director General of SMEDAN for six years before assuming his role as Governor of Katsina State.

Governor Radda’s visit to the SMEDAN headquarters in Abuja marked a notable occasion. During this visit, he not only signed the matching fund agreement but also formalized an MoU to transform Katsina’s Industrial Development Center into a dynamic incubator for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This ambitious initiative is set to enhance the local entrepreneurial ecosystem by offering discounted access to cutting-edge tools and essential infrastructure, including reliable power sources.

The revamped Industrial Development Center will serve as a cornerstone for SME growth in Katsina, providing critical support to local entrepreneurs. By making modern technology and infrastructure more accessible, the initiative aims to create a more vibrant business environment that encourages innovation and entrepreneurship.

Governor Radda’s commitment to democratizing SME finance on a national scale is commendable. His dedication to fostering economic growth in Katsina and creating job opportunities through this new initiative is a testament to his visionary leadership. By focusing on building a supportive infrastructure for SMEs, he is laying the foundation for sustainable economic development and prosperity in the region.

This partnership between SMEDAN and the Katsina State Government represents a significant step forward in our collective efforts to strengthen the SME sector. It underscores our shared commitment to supporting small businesses and fostering an environment where they can thrive. As we move forward, we are excited about the positive impact this initiative will have on the local economy and the entrepreneurial landscape in Katsina.
